Main purpose of job:
Embody values – communicating our purpose and impact with authenticity and helping others understand why creating meaningful employment opportunities for autistic people and people with learning disabilities matters.
As Community and Corporate Fundraiser you will grow income, awareness and engagement by building strong relationships with local businesses, community groups, schools and individual supporters. The role will support Little Gate’s mission to help people with learning disabilities and/or autism into training, work and greater independence by ensuring fundraising activity directly strengthens opportunities for trainees, apprentices and college learners.

Location:
Your usual place of work will be at the Little Gate Supported Employment Office in Battle. However, your job role means you will be required to travel away from this location for the proper performance of your duties. Other locations may include but are not limited to other offices or branches of the Charity, any agreed remote working location (which could include your home), the premises of stakeholders, community groups, supporters and locations at which events and training are held.
Little Gate works across a wide geographical area in East Sussex.
Salary:
£15 per hour
Your usual hours of work will be 25 hours per week, 5 hours per day (between 8.30am and 5.30pm) Monday to Friday, scheduled to meet the business needs of the Charity. The nature of your role also requires some flexibility in days and hours of work to facilitate attendance at events and to meet the availability of the stakeholders and supporters you engage with and you may be required to work outside of your usual hours and days (weekend, early morning and evening work) on occasion by mutual agreement with your line lead.
In certain circumstances, it may be necessary to adjust or exceed your normal working hours in order to meet the requirements of your job.
Probationary period:
3 months
Holiday Entitlement:
5.6 weeks per annum inclusive of bank and public holidays (calculated pro rata to contracted hours).

Safeguarding requirements:
All employees and volunteers, regardless of their posts, share in the responsibility for protecting our work trainees, young rangers and students, keeping them safe from harm whilst they are attending Little Gate and for reporting concerns about any person’s welfare and safety.
You will actively promote our commitment to safer recruitment and the safeguarding of the vulnerable people we serve to stakeholders and supporters.

Main tasks of job:
- Research suitable trusts and foundations and write high-quality funding applications that align with Little Gate’s priorities and demonstrate the impact of its work
Community Fundraising
- Develop and deliver a community fundraising plan that increases local engagement and voluntary income.
- Build relationships with community groups, schools, faith organisations, clubs and local networks.
- Support and steward volunteers, challenge event participants and community fundraisers.
- Organise and promote community events, campaigns and appeals that showcase Little Gate’s impact.
- Represent Little Gate at local events, talks and networking opportunities.
Corporate Fundraising - Identify, research and approach new corporate partners across East Sussex and Kent.
- Develop compelling partnership proposals, sponsorship packages and charity-of-the-year offers. Work with operational and finance colleagues to identify contract opportunities and prepare strong, evidence-based bids and tenders that demonstrate Little Gate’s impact, experience and ability to deliver.
- Manage and steward existing corporate relationships, ensuring clear communication and impact reporting.
- Work closely with employers involved in supported employment programmes to deepen engagement and unlock new opportunities.
- Promote payroll giving, corporate volunteering and team fundraising initiatives.
Communications and Engagement - Work with various teams across the Charity to produce engaging fundraising content for social media, newsletters and press.
- Share stories that highlight the achievements of trainees, apprentices and college learners.
- Contribute to fundraising campaigns, appeals and supporter journeys that strengthen donor loyalty.
Administration and Compliance - Maintain accurate records of supporters, income and activity using Little Gate’s CRM systems.
- Track progress against targets and prepare regular reports for senior leadership.
- Ensure all fundraising activity complies with the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice and internal policies.
- Develop the Fundraising Strategy in line with the Charity needs

You will take the time to understand our work, our outcomes and the people we support, turning evidence and real-life impact into compelling applications that demonstrate not only what we do, but why it matters and the difference investment in Little Gate can make.
Essential Criteria;
- Proven experience in community or corporate fundraising.
- Excellent communication, networking and presentation skills.
- Confident and outgoing with the ability to motivate, inspire and build rapport with diverse stakeholders including businesses, volunteers and community groups.
- Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative approach to generating income and engaging supporters.
- Commitment to inclusion and passion for Little Gate’s mission.
- Strong IT skills, proficient with MS Office programmes.
- Hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes OR be able to demonstrate the ability to travel independently and efficiently to varied working locations.
Desirable Criteria;
- Experience working within a charity or social impact organisation.
- Understanding of the local business landscape across East Sussex and Kent.
- Experience delivering events or campaigns.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and fundraising best practice.
- Experience of writing successful bids and tenders for contracts.
Qualifications;
Strong Maths and English skills equivalent to GCSE Grade 4 (Grade C) or above, demonstrated through qualifications, training, or relevant experience.
